FORCE’s Health Literacy and Plain Language Communication plan will deliver training on health literacy and plain language writing for their three Education Team staff. This will provide the three team members with enduring skills, which they can apply across all their education content allowing them to lower the literacy level, while maintaining the content accuracy.

The National Psoriasis Foundation’s 2019 Volunteer Development Program will improve tracking and onboarding of volunteers, avoid volunteer burnout/underutilization and develop virtual volunteer opportunities in order to develop, grow and ultimately advance their ability to serve their community.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation, partnering with the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation & The International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation, plan to institute a Lymphoma Leadership Learning Lab that will create collaborative working relationships between organizations, not just at the executive level, but more specifically with the next generation of leaders; increase awareness of how strategic partnerships increase innovation and foster problem solving; and provide individualized skill building in productive conversations, program management, collaborative decision-making and stakeholder management.

The Patient Advocate Foundation’s Building Capacity to Thrive at Work: PAF Compassion Resiliency Retreat will elevate their concern for staff well-being in ways that will be valued by the participants. They seek to discover and build resilience practices to avoid burnout and sustain continued renewal of energy and enthusiasm for the mission to which they are committed.

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation will fully develop the Staff Foundation Registry Dashboard to display de-identified health data from the Registry and subsequently train and educate of all PFF staff and select stakeholders on its functionality.

The Vasculitis Foundation’s Vasculitis Community Engagement program will attain best practices for social media growth, establish a monthly budget for well placed ads and create a strong digital outreach strategy to engage their community, continue to expand their reach, and leverage the expanded audience into action.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Making the Connection: Understanding the Role of Cultural Competency in Engagement with Crohn’s and Colitis Patients program will provide cultural competency training that would be strategically offered to a selection of 10 key Foundation staff that serve as representatives to local communities and who serve as leads in offering education, support and research.

PeDRA‘s Leadership Development plan will host a Board training retreat to help educate, build confidence in volunteer leaders, and develop volunteer leadership skills.

IFAA’s Vocal Impact: Demographics 360 initiative will train a full team to help with the development and management of their podcast and associated “tours”. IFAA will establish a podcast team, inclusive of both existing volunteers and new recruits that represent various demographic groups in their community.

Be The Match’s Capacity Building: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training will provide training to 100% of their staff and board members over a 12-month period.

The Patient Empowerment Network’s Building In-House Web Design, SEO, and Analytics Expertise plan will send their Digital Communications and Engagement Director to an immersive web design class, which will equip the director with knowledge and skills needed to successfully run and manage their digital programs. The skills will include: web languages, coding and web design and Improvement of user experience.

BMT InfoNet’s Reaching Patients Where They’re At: Learning How They Search, What they Need to Know initiative will engage a website and search engine specialist to educate them about how to best optimize google analytics and similar web monitoring sites to help as many patients as possible and provide them with an unsurpassed web learning experience.

Melanoma Research Alliance’s program, Meeting Their Needs: Improving MRA’s Information Systems to Put the Right Message In Front of the Right Audience, will partner with two firms to coach and guide key staff to create the necessary changes to their information systems. They will also develop resources and conduct training for MRA staff so that all levels of staff understand the new capabilities.

The Dravet Syndrome Foundation’s Awareness Program will provide staff professional education and mentoring to further develop and refine what content is most valuable for inclusion in their monthly newsletter; research and clearly define the audiences for each of their social media channels; and increase their overall presence on social media to increase awareness of Dravet syndrome as well as current efforts in the field.

CANCER101’s Data Visualization & Social Impact and Change will enroll staff in the Data Visualization program at the Parsons School of Design, which will provide the fundamentals in big data and metrics-driven environments through hands-on courses on strategic information design, data analytics, and data storytelling techniques. In addition, they will also plan to complete a Social Entrepreneurship Certification through NYU focused on creating socially driven innovations through training on systems thinking, as well as social impact and change.

The Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation’s Patient Support Volunteer Program seeks to recruit additional Sj?gren’s Patient Support Volunteers and provide them with enhanced training and resources to serve patients as a Patient Support Volunteer.

The ACS-CAN’s project, Diversifying ACS CAN’s Volunteer Structure, will fund six volunteer advocates from their partner organizations, including African American fraternities and sororities such as Phi Beta Sigma and Delta Sigma Theta and The Links, Inc. (a social service organization for African American/Black women), to attend their Leadership Summit and Lobby Day.

Sharsheret’s Metrics for Success: Evaluating Life Saving Cancer Education Programming will conduct a full evaluation of the current EOP evaluation method culminating in the creation and implementation of a new, sustainable evaluation strategy. A significant portion of the project will include retaining a professional evaluation consultant with extensive experience in the field who will collect and analyze their current data and identify strengths, challenges, and areas of weakness and growth.

The Lupus Foundation of America’s program, Advancing the Health Educator Support to constituents and the Educational Programs, plans to equip their Bilingual Health Educator, Health Educator team, Education department and the whole organization with training and tools to enhance their education and outreach efforts within Hispanic communities across the country.

Let’s Win! Pancreatic Cancer initiative will provide cultural and diversity sensitivity training for staff, create easy-to-understand materials in Spanish and English that explain pancreatic cancer symptoms and what to do if someone is diagnosed with the disease, as well as film a collaborative public service announcement (PSA) to help raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, the importance of recognizing the symptoms, and how to access the best treatment.
